OFFICIAL DOS CLASSIFICATION - First encountered in 1986, theorized in 1989, and explored for the first time in 1990, the Reef is an alternate dimension shaped by the collective consciousnesses of all humans. Its resemblance to a coral reef led DR. AIKO TANAKA to choose the name. Subsequently, upon further research, DOS researchers named the water-like substance that was the Reef’s equivalent of water IDEOFLUID and the strange colorful structures within the Reef CORAL. Likewise, the reality in which humans exist in was given the name THE SHORE as a contrast to the Reef.

ORIGIN - It is unknown when the Reef was created, but the DOS theorizes that the metaphysical barrier between the Reef and the Shore was very thin, and the ANAE incident in the Swiss Alps in 1986 officially pierced the barrier between the two.

APPEARANCE - The Reef appears as an environment similar to a coral reef. Instead of water, the clear water-like liquid within is known as ideofluid, which is theorized to be a physical manifestation of every thought, dream, and idea ever manifested in human consciousness.
